Brief
Create a motion graphic on the topic of Objective Objects, where you need to pick an object and explore its symbolic potential. Do so by fostering its narrative as a concept from a material/physical grounding via motion graphics, including kinetic typography.Reflection
This was my first attempt at creating such detailed and lengthy motion graphics. The chosen subject matter for this brief is yarn. It aims to explore the versatility of how a simple ball of yarn can turn into something so intricate and beautiful through the art of crochet. It also delves into how crochet can help improve mental health and connect people to form a community. It is somewhat of a personal piece representing and using my own clothing brand Khushi Crochets, which offers a variety of handmade crochet pieces as a client.I have explored lines, patterns, and colours with the help of geometric and abstract illustrations, voice-over and typography. The key graphics include geometric illustrations such as balls of yarn, some of the crochet pieces, and other illustrations to help emphasise the overall visuals with minimalistic backgrounds. Additionally, I used a candy minimal colour scheme to accurately represent the friendly and casual brand personality I am aiming for. The illustrations are animated in an artistic and creative way that reflects the tone of the brand and connects with the audience in a fun and colourful manner.
